E-signature token not detected: 6 fixes

You've plugged in your e-signature, but the signing software, e-Devlet or UYAP can't find your certificate. It's the most common e-signature problem and is usually fixed with a few simple steps. Try these in order.

1. Unplug and try another port

Plug the token directly into the computer. USB hubs, extension cables and keyboard ports can cause problems. If the token's light is on, the computer at least sees it electrically.

2. Install or reinstall the driver

Your computer needs the driver published by your provider. After a new computer or an operating system update you may need to reinstall it. Always download it from the provider's official site.

3. Check the Smart Card service (Windows)

If Windows' Smart Card service is stopped, the token won't appear. In Services (services.msc), make sure "Smart Card" is running.

4. Restart the programs

A browser or signing program opened before you plugged in the token may not see it. Close them, plug in the token and reopen. Restart the computer if needed.

5. On macOS

Use the macOS driver from your provider. Some public systems have limited macOS support; a Windows computer may work more smoothly.

6. Check the certificate's validity

If the token appears but the certificate doesn't, or you see "invalid", it may have expired. See our renewal guide.
